So many women are told that painful periods, heavy bleeding, unexplained weight gain, acne, missing or unpredictable cycles, and crushing fatigue are just part of being a woman, and then sent home without answers. Handed a pill, told to come back if it gets worse, and left to just... live with it.
But being sent home without answers isn't okay. And normal on paper doesn't always mean your body feels well.
I know this because I've lived it. In my twenties, chronic stress, under-eating disguised as clean eating, and hormonal birth control left me with a missing cycle, energy running on fumes, and a body I no longer understood, all while being told everything looked normal and I should go back on the pill to get my cycle back. It took time, and learning to truly listen to my body (not control it, optimize it, or override it), before things began to shift. My cycle returned, my energy came back, and for the first time in a long time, I felt at home in my body again.
That's the foundation of everything I do (and also why I now have strong, unsolicited opinions about blood sugar regulation and the medical system for women that nobody asked for in social situations).
